Pearson takes on EA work

Pearson Blueprint Technologies Inc. won an $8.8 million contract to support the Health and Human Services Department implement an enterprise architecture.

The company will help the department integrate its enterprise architecture into its planning and decision-making, and establish guidelines, standards and procedures to support these activities.

Based in Arlington, Pearson Blueprint Technologies is a division of Pearson Government Solutions Inc., which bought Blueprint, a privately held company that specializes in architecture-based solutions, in May. The terms of the stock transaction were not disclosed.

Pearson Government Solutions designs and operates IT solutions for U.S. federal, state and local and international governments and higher education institutions. The company employs almost 5,500 workers and had annual revenue of more than $500 million in fiscal 2005. It ranks No. 36 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
