Maxamine wins Treasury Web site analytics contract

Maxamine Inc. of Lafayette, Calif., will provide analytic software to the Treasury Department's Federal Consulting Group to improve government Web site quality and compliance.

The Federal Consulting Group is a fee-for-service franchise fund within Treasury that promotes best practices to improve agencies' service.

Maxamine software uses a program to collect data about Web sites and then uses that data to measure and report on site quality, accessibility, privacy implementations and compliance with internal publishing policies.

The software is based on advanced spatial and geological mapping technologies like those used to map galaxies and complex topologies from the high-performance computing industry.

Under the five-year contract valued at up to $9.6 million, the software is available to the 125 Federal Consulting Group federal customers and agencies. Treasury, the Health and Human Services Department and the Social Security Administration have signed agreements under the new contract.
