Federal pension corporation embarks on SOA work
The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation has awarded a four-year, $6 million contract to Keane Inc. to aid in various projects related to service-oriented architecture.
The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation has awarded a four-year, $6 million contract to Keane Inc. to aid in various projects related to service-oriented architecture, the Boston-based consulting company said yesterday. Under the contract, Keane will work on specific projects and help the agency develop a set of software services that can provide units of business functionality across the agency.
John Alfano, sector vice president of Keane Federal Systems, said the company has extensive experience with the Federal Enterprise Architecture, which puts it in a good position to do SOA work for PBGC. Keane also has an ongoing relationship with the federal corporation. It currently supports PBGC in project management, quality assurance, customer relationship management and engineering services.
Created in 1974 by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, PBGC manages the pensions of 1.3 million people and guarantees basic pension benefits to an additional 44 million workers.
