GSA wants feedback on Alliant draft RFPs

The General Services Administration today issued the second set of draft requests for proposals for its 10-year, $65 billion Alliant procurement program to let federal agencies buy a wide range of IT services.

Industry has until June 30 to submit comments for the draft RFPs, which reflect changes in the strategy for the $50 billion Alliant full and open governmentwide acquisition vehicle and the $15 billion Alliant small business set-aside contract.

The second set includes technical requirements in the context of the Defense Department/Federal Enterprise Architecture, which provides a common framework for defining IT requirements. GSA wants industry to offer feedback on the DOD/Federal Enterprise Architecture alignment, clarity of requirements for offers, alignment of labor categories and industry practices and minimum order size.

The procurement agency will release the final RFPs in October and award contracts in 2007. It plans to issue awards to 25 to 30 companies for the Alliant full and open contract and issue 40 to 60 awards for the Alliant small business contract.

GSA previously planned to issue about 20 awards for the Alliant full and open procurement and up to 40 for the small business contract.

GSA will publish comments about the second set of draft RFPs at the Federal Business Opportunities.
