Rother to lead CDW-G public sector practice

CDW Government, Inc. announced it has promoted Chris Rother to group vice president responsible for all of public sector sales.
Rother joined the parent company, CDW Corp., as an account manager in 1991 and has helped grow its public sector subsidiary since the unit was founded in 1998. She has been CDW-G's vice president of education and state and local sales since 2002.
"A highly-effective leader, Chris is skilled at motivating our sales team to improve the customer experience, helping them to evolve from product purchasing to value-added services and comprehensive, business-focused IT solutions," Jim Shanks, executive vice president of CDW Corp., said in a statement.
Rother earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She contributes to the National Institute of Government Purchasing Supplier Partner Council, as well as the Associated Colleges of Illinois, where she is a member of the board.
CDW-G of Vernon Hills, Ill., ranks No. 56 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors. The 2006 list will be released May 15.
