Ohio taps ACS for electronic benefits transfer
Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a contract from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to provide electronic benefits transfer services.
Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won an eight-year, $45 million contract from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to provide electronic benefits transfer services, the company announced today.
Under the contract, ACS of Dallas will provide transaction processing for electronic benefits transfer services, project management, retailer management for merchants, a data center, a call center, and card reconciliation and settlement.
The company is assisting the state to convert from an offline smart card program to a new online magnetic stripe program. ACS will convert all EBT clients by April 2006.
ACS Government and Community Solutions business unit will perform the work. The unit provides management, automation and operation of public sector human services programs and provides electronic benefits transfer and child support payment processing services throughout the United States.
ACS, a provider of IT and business process outsourcing services, has more than 50,000 employees and annual sales of $4.3 billion.
