epipeline beefs up contract tracking services

Federal market research company epipeline inc. acquired B2Gsource Inc., an online service that tracks state and local government contracts, epipeline said today. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
B2Gsource of Austin, Texas, is an online subscription service that provides bid notification services for contracting opportunities.
Crossbow Ventures, a West Palm Beach, Fla., venture capital firm, was epipeline's main investor in the cash and stock deal, which was finalized May 6. The investment represents Crossbow Ventures' second round of financing to epipeline. The company initially invested $1.5 million in epipeline in 2002.
B2Gsource will operate as a self-contained business unit within the company and maintain its focus on state and local contract opportunities.
Based in Herndon, Va., epipeline provides government market information in the areas of information technology, communications and intelligence; facilities management; and environmental, architectural, engineering and construction opportunities. The company has more than 1,000 clients.
