California wants a contractor-hosted application to serve point-of-sale terminals at department offices and 2,000 license agents throughout the state. The solution must include Web hosting and the sale of licenses and permits via the Internet.
The New Jersey Division of Fish, Game and Wildlife also is planning a point-of-sale system for fishing and hunting licenses at the nearly 300 license sales points in the state. The department anticipates the release of an RFP in late 2004 for developing and implementing a fully integrated system.
