Lockheed wins NASA desktop services work

Lockheed Martin Corp. won four orders worth about $108.8 million to deliver desktop, server and telephone outsourcing services to NASA, the company said today.

The services include help desk, local area network, desktop break/fix, technology refresh, software licensing, hardware acquisition, catalog services and switch and cable plant maintenance.

The Bethesda, Md., defense company will these deliver the services to the agency's four aerospace technology centers in California, Ohio and Virginia for the next three years.

The delivery orders are a continuation of work originally awarded to Affiliated Computer Services Inc. under NASA's Outsourcing Desktop Initiative program. Lockheed Martin took over the contract last December when it bought ACS' government services business. Lockheed Martin also has provided managed information technology services for NASA at other sites under the same program.
