Five firms share in $46M Transportation contract

Five systems integrators won spots on a $46 million, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract for systems integration and engineering services from the Transportation Department's John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center.

The companies are Dynamics Research Corp. of Andover, Mass., General Dynamics Corp. of Falls Church, Va., Northrop Grumman Corp. of Los Angeles, Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego, and Titan Corp. of San Diego.

The contract has a one-year base period and four option years.

The five companies will now compete to provide engineering services in communication, navigation and surveillance to the Volpe Center, which provides technical research and analysis services to the Transportation Department and other transportation organizations.

Products and services the companies will provide include strategic planning and systems engineering, traffic and fleet management, navigation systems, sensor and surveillance systems, guidance and control systems, communication systems, and automation and display systems, according to Dynamics Research Corp. officials.
