AT&T wins subcontract for State Dept. domestic telecom

AT&T Corp. was chosen by prime contractor EDS Corp. of Plano, Texas, to provide network engineering, installation and maintenance services on a multimillion-dollar contract to operate the State Department's domestic telecommunications network, AT&T Government Solutions of Vienna, Va., announced today.

AT&T's work was awarded as a task order under the General Services Administration's Connections contract. The task order has is for one year with six and a half option years.

EDS is upgrading and maintaining the State Department's domestic voice, data and video conferencing network, which covers more than 40 locations, including the U.S. mission to the United Nations and all consular affairs offices.

AT&T Government Solutions will provide network engineering, voice and data engineering, systems engineering, project management, software development and installation and maintenance as a subcontractor to EDS.
