Another portal debuts to improve agency performance
BetterManagement.com announced the launch of its Government Excellence Resource Center, a portal designed to help public-sector organizations improve their performance.
BetterManagement.com, a performance management Web portal operated out of Portland, Ore., April 17 announced the launch of its Government Excellence Resource Center, a portal designed to help public-sector organizations improve their performance.
The portal, www.bettermanagement.com/govexcellence, provides educational and best practice information on issues such as cost management, supply chain management and hot topics such as homeland security. KPMG Consulting Inc. of McLean, Va., is a key sponsor and primary content provider to the portal.
The BetterManagement portal is the second site launched this month to help government agencies improve their operations. PwC Consulting April 10 launched its portal, www.pwcconsulting.com/pma to help agency officials meet the goals of President Bush's management agenda.
Articles, case studies, white papers and Web seminars available at the BetterManagement's Government Excellence Resource Center will help federal, state and local government officials leverage technology and performance management methodologies to improve efficiency, reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction, officials said.
"There is a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience accumulated within the public sector. The challenge is to find a way to share this information across all agencies and levels of government," said Dan Johnson, executive vice president of KPMG Consulting's Public Services Practice. "The Government Excellence Resource Center provides an invaluable tool to government leaders who are looking to leverage the knowledge and experience of others."
Nearly 25 percent of BetterManagement.com's 100,000 unique monthly visitors come from the public sector, according to the company. KPMG Consulting provides business and technology strategy, systems design and integration and applications implementation.
