The Air Force announced May 23 it has awarded a five-year, $49.8 million contract to BAE Systems Portal Solutions Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of BAE Systems Plc, Farnborough, U.K.
The System Engineering, System Analysis Worldwide 2 (SEESAW II) contract is to provide system engineering, software engineering, integration management and configuration management support to the Department of Defense Intelligence Information System and the U.S. intelligence community globally.
The program also includes technical support for the Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome, N.Y., to assist in the integration, testing and evaluation of defense intelligence information systems.
BAE Systems Portal Solutions used to be Synectics Corp., which held the SEESAW I contract. Synectics was acquired by Marconi plc of London in March 1999; British Aerospace acquired the military electronics part of Marconi's business, including Synectics, later that year and changed the name.
