Our next Power Breakfast to explore the Navy-industry partnership
This March 8 event will feature speakers from the Navy, Defense Department and industry that will share insights into what it means to work with the Navy.
We are taking a deep dive into the Navy next week for our latest Washington Technology Power Breakfast.
The March 8 event will feature Navy officials and defense contractors sharing what’s driving the market and how industry can participate.
The event kicks off at 8 a.m. at Carahsoft's headquarters in Reston, Virginia with registration and breakfast. The program starts at 8:30 a.m.
Our opening keynote is Navy Capt. Jesse Black, commanding officer of the Naval Research Lab. He will talk about upcoming opportunities for collaboration and partnership with the lab, and take audience questions.
You can expect Black to mention artificial intelligence, space, unmanned systems and the need for resiliency in communications and supply chains.
Black will also highlight topics that will take center stage at the lab’s upcoming innovation day.
Also on the Power Breakfast agenda is an industry panel that will feature large contractors serving the Navy.
That panel will include DJ LeGoff, senior vice president of Leidos’ Navy business; and Jerry Parke, executive vice president of business development for CACI. They will overview the Navy-industry relationship, challenges the Navy faces and what it means to forge a partnership with that service branch.
Leidos is the prime contractor managing the Next Generation Enterprise Network and CACI is in the same role for Spectral, the Navy effort to modernize signals intelligence and electronic warfare capabilities.
Innovation will be a key theme of the Power Breakfast and that will be the focus of our conversation with William McHenry, senior advisor to the director of the Defense Innovation Unit.
McHenry will share how DIU is working with the Navy and other parts of the Defense Department to bring cutting-edge technologies to the warfighter and open opportunities for non-traditional defense contractors.
Those will be some critical tips about how to position your business and find partners with critical technologies that can differentiate your proposals.
As with all of our Power Breakfasts: there will be valuable information from the stage, opportunities to network and connect with potential business partners.
We want this to be interactive, so bring your questions too.
