Find opportunities — and win them.

After weathering a protest challenge, GDIT will focus on cyber threats inside the Air Force's industrial control systems.

General Dynamics IT can now officially move ahead on a $185 million contract for cybersecurity services to the Air Force Civil Engineer Center.

GDIT first company won the contract in January, but that was followed by a protest from Serco Inc. that complained about how the Air Force evaluated staffing plans.

The Air Force pulled the award back in early March to re-evaluate proposals and make a new award.

On May 17, GDIT announced it had won the contract to continue its work with the center for another five years. That customer relationship began in 2018.

GDIT's announcement indicates the protest phase has passed, freeing the company up to start the work.

The Air Force Civil Engineering Center is responsible for facility investment planning, design and construction. It also acts as a property manager and is responsible for environmental compliance and restoration.

GDIT will develop new strategies to mitigate cybersecurity risks to Air Force industrial control systems that are used for building automation, life safety, utility monitoring and airfield control functions.
