SAS, Carahsoft ink new partnership pact
Their agreement is part of a shift by SAS to emphasize a distribution model for their resellers and broaden its reach in the government market.
Carahsoft and SAS have signed a new partnership agreement with the goal of expanding the access that public sector buyers have to the software developer’s offerings.
SAS has a long history in the government market that dates back 50 years, but the relationship with Carahsoft marks a shift toward emphasizing a new distribution model for SAS resellers.
“Engaging with distribution is a deliberate step to help us take our partner strategy to the next level,” said John Carey, vice president of global channels at SAS.
Carahsoft will deliver SAS data analytics technologies to federal customers through resellers, as well as its own GSA schedule and other contract vehicles such as NASA SEWP and ITES-Software 2. Carahsoft will also market SAS through the Quilt, a non-profit national coalition of advanced research and education center; and Omnia Partners, a national government purchasing co-operative.
“This partnership will bring agencies the advanced AI and analytics tools needed to increase public sector productivity, make data-driven decisions and foster innovation and success for all levels of government,” said Craig Abod, Carahsoft president.
The new partnership also covers SAS Viya, its cloud-based data and AI platform. The platform is used for fraud detection, security intelligence, streaming analytics, flood mitigation, medical record review and predictive maintenance.
