Commerce unveils contract for supply chain analytics
Proposals are due within the next couple of weeks for the contract to monitor and collect data on supply chains, industry participants and potential risks.
The Commerce Department agency responsible for promoting exports of U.S. goods and services is now accepting proposals for a potential three-year contract to build a supply chain data analytics platform.
Commerce's International Trade Administration wants the web-based system to collect and track a variety of data to help inform regulatory and economic policies. ITA also wants to better identify risks and opportunities for protecting supply chains, according to solicitation documents.
Proposals are due Aug. 14 for the single-award contract, which ITA is competing as a small business set-aside. ITA has structured the contract with one base year and a pair of individual option years.
The contractor will be responsible for fielding the system to monitor supply chain aspects including industry participants, market share, corporate family structure, customer and supplier relationships, risks, and shipping information.
Other areas of responsibility for the contractor include fielding the web-based system, training users and maintaining the system.
ITA has identified four primary areas for analysis:
- Reactive analysis
- Proactive analysis
- Scenario and policy training
- Persistent scanning
This is a new contract with no incumbent.
