Find opportunities — and win them.

Proposals are due soon for the software engineering and development support recompete.

The Navy has updated the recompete process for $100 million weather contract that will support several commands.

General Dynamics' IT services business is the incumbent on the contract supporting the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, Navy Information Forces and subordinate commands.

Services under the contract fall into four key functional areas:

  • Software engineering, sustainment and modernization
  • Software management and support services
  • Software administration
  • Data architecture and services

Deltek estimates the value of the new Meteorology and Oceanography Information Technology contract as $99.5 million.

The Navy has released several amendments and documents related to the solicitation that first went out in November.

Among the documents are a performance work statement and the questions-and-answers sheet.

The PWS includes a breakdown of goals and requirements for each of the four functional areas. For example, the software engineering area shows how the Navy is looking for human systems integration and human factors engineering expertise.

Proposals are currently due Dec. 23.
