DISA further details DEOS support contract
The Defense Information Systems Agency is keeping its focus on cyber and program management support amid several other changes to this program aiding the collaboration tool rollout.
The Defense Information Systems Agency has released an updated source sought notice for a support contract for its cloud email and collaboration implementation program.
The $4.4 billion Defense Enterprise Office Solutions contract focused on implementing Microsoft Office 365 and other tools went to General Dynamics IT.
On a separate track, DISA is looking to recompete the program management contract that went to Booz Allen Hamilton in 2017.
Soon after releasing the source sought notice in September, DISA said it was working to amend it.
The new version is now out. Responses to the new sources sought notice are due Oct. 21. The solicitation number on Sam.gov is 622268970.
In comparing the Sept. 13 version to the Oct. 6 version, the main purpose of the contract and what DISA wants is mostly unchanged -- program management support.
Some of the wording has changed.
The earlier version calls for support for operations, engineering and technical support. Those words do not appear to be prominent in the new source sought notice, but do appear in the description of required capabilities.
In DISA's latest update, the agency seems to be emphasizing “programmatic support services.”
The new notice also drops the use of “DEOS team” in favor of “DEOS PMO.”
Both versions talk about support for cybersecurity policies and reports, risk analysis and mitigation, configuration management, program management and life cycle costs analysis.
Both versions also call for two or more qualified small businesses to respond as a requirement for making the contract a small business set-aside, but that is pretty standard fare in sources sought notices.
The contract with Booz Allen expires June 6, 2023. The most recent sources sought notice says the new contract will be in place on June 7 and run through June 6, 2028.
No clear details are in yet on the new contract's value, but Booz Allen’s contract is valued at $60.5 million.
