New due date set for Missile Defense cyber contract

The Missile Defense Agency has delayed the due date for proposals on a small business contract for IT and cybersecurity support.

Known as TEAMS-Next Information Technology and Cybersecurity Management, MDA will use the contract to buy advisory and assistance services for the agency broadly and more specifically its office of the chief of information officer. A dollar value has not been disclosed

The single-award contract is slated to run for five years if all options are exercised. There also is an option for six-month extension after that, according to solicitation documents.

MDA is revising the solicitation and now expects proposals to be due Feb. 23.

The agency wants to bolster weapons systems cybersecurity. Other requirements include improved security of current DOD networks, cybersecurity integration, and compliance with Defense Department cyber policies and directives.

This is a new requirement so there is no incumbent. It is planned for small businesses identified as such under the Engineering Services NAICS code (541330), which has a size standard of $41.5 million in annual revenue for defense work.
