NASA has updated the draft solicitation for a $720 million contract to help the agency develop new technologies.

NASA is making progress on the recompete of what could be a $720 million single-award contract to support the development of spacecraft and other systems needed for science and space missions.

Science Applications International Corp. is the incumbent on the current Omnibus Multidiscipline Engineering Services II contract known by the acronym of OMES II.

A final solicitation is expected in April, while NASA has updated the draft solicitation in the meantime.

NASA uses the contract to support the Goddard Space Flight Center’s applied engineering and technology drectorate.

SAIC's engineering services for the contract include design, development, testing, and operations of spaceflight, airborne, and ground system hardware and software. The company also supports the development and validation of new technologies.

For example, SAIC said in a 2020 press release that it helped design and build an unmanned spacecraft to service satellites on-orbit.
