Pyramid Systems has hired a new chief executive in David Chow, a 24-year technology sector veteran and a former chief information officer for the Housing and Urban Development Department.
Chow started as CEO on Feb. 3 to lead the three-decade old company’s push for expansion into new customer sets and technology areas, Pyramid said Thursday. Chow succeeds Jeff Hwang, the now-former CEO who co-founded Pyramid in 1995 with wife Sherry.
Pyramid has recorded approximately $48.7 million in unclassified prime contract revenue over the trailing 12 months with 98% of that spend from HUD, according to GovTribe data.
Most recently, Chow worked as global chief information officer at Aon. His private sector career also includes senior tech leadership roles at Trend Micro and CoreLogic.
As HUD’S CIO from 2018 to 2021, Chow led that department’s enterprise IT function and pivot to a zero trust cybersecurity approach. He also oversaw a major IT transformation effort there.
Chow is also a former deputy CIO and chief information security officer for the National Credit Union Administration, as well as a former CIO for the Federal Highway Administration.
