Find opportunities — and win them.

The 28-year-old company is moving into a new phase of its strategy and vision.

Odyssey Systems has promoted its next chief executive from within the company’s own ranks in Matt Kasberg, who has been chief operating officer for the past six years.

Kasberg succeeds Tom Portlock, who led Odyssey as CEO for five years and will transition to chairman of the board of directors.

They will both work with Chief Financial Officer Kevin Connolly on shaping the company’s overall strategy and execution, Odyssey said Wednesday.

A 17-year Odyssey veteran, Kasberg moved up to the COO post after close to a decade in leadership roles for its business development function.

He has led the execution of contracts in areas such as force protection, air space mission planning and management, foreign military sales, airborne warning and control, space surveillance, ground-based space sensor, and special program domains.

Odyssey hit position No. 99 on the 2024 WT Top 100 rankings of the government market’s largest providers of tech and professional services, marking the first time the 28-year-old company qualified for the list.
