Capture and financial leadership roles across the market

Akima
Jonathan Peppard has joined as vice president of capture, a role involving leadership for the government services company’s business development function.
Some examples of Akima’s priority tech areas include digital modernization, training, generative artificial intelligence and robotic process automation.
Peppard is a 27-year veteran whose career includes roles at Shipley Associates, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.
Iron Bow Technologies
Chris Smith started as chief financial officer on Dec. 9, a move that represents his return to the public sector IT solutions provider.
Smith’s first stint at Iron Bow took place between 2008 and 2017, a tenure that included roles in accounting and control functions.
Most recently, he worked as CFO of ID Technologies and oversaw the $225 million sale of that company to CACI International in late 2021.
Raft
Dawn Pinto has joined the defense technology integrator as chief financial officer, a role she brings two decades of experience to.
Raft’s hire of Pinto follows the April announcement of Washington Harbour Partners’ $60 million growth investment into the seven-year-old company.
Pinto most recently worked as CFO for the Jacobs critical mission solutions segment and was involved in that unit’s merger with Amentum. Her career also includes roles such as CFO for Booz Allen Hamilton’s civilian services group.

Valkyrie Enterprises
Michael Anderson has moved into the role of chief strategy officer at the government technology and services company, where he will lead enterprise-wide proposal and capture work.
Anderson, who joined Valkyrie in 2022 as chief technical officer, also now supports business development functions within the company’s line operations.
Valkyrie also promoted Neil Funtanilla to senior vice president of the mission solutions business area, succeeding Anderson. Nicholas Delgado elevated to senior vice president of the newly-formed life cycle support and solutions business area.
Launchpad Build
Bill Vass, chief technology officer at Booz Allen Hamilton since June, has joined the artificial intelligence and robotics startup’s board of directors.
Jon Quick, chief financial and chief operating officer at Launchpad, announced Vass’ appointment in a LinkedIn post that describes the company’s strategy.
Launchpad is pushing to develop AI/robotics automation systems that can domestically assemble goods and be “cost competitive with overseas solutions, even at moderate volumes,” Quick wrote.
