BlueHalo lands Navy drone sensor system contract
This award highlights the electronic warfare capabilities that AeroVironment is adding through its acquisition of BlueHalo.
BlueHalo continues to show why it was an attractive takeover target by securing a five-year contract support senor systems for uncrewed aerial systems and other electronic warfare initiatives for Navy.
The company has booked a $49.9 million contract with the Naval Information Warfare Center-Pacific to deliver hardware, materials and components. The award also covers engineering services and integration and operational support for the Navy and Special Operations Command.
BlueHalo will support the development of sensor systems and their integration into various uncrewed aerial systems for NIWC Pacific, as well as sustain sensor operations and train operators on the use of these systems.
AeroVironment announced a $4.1 billion agreement in November to acquire BlueHalo in part because of its UAS, counter-UAS, and electronic warfare work. The companies expect the move to close sometime in the first half of this year.
"BlueHalo continues to deliver inspired engineering and tactical solutions to help our nation stay ahead of global threats," said James Batt, BlueHalo's chief growth officer.
BlueHalo has supported NIWC Pacific for 15 years.
