Tom Ferrando has chaired Edgewater's board of directors for two years and led Salient CRGT through its 2021 sale to GovCIO.

Edgewater Federal Solutions has appointed a new chief executive in Tom Ferrando, currently its executive board chairman and formerly CEO of Salient CRGT from 2015 to 2021.

Ferrando has chaired the Edgewater board for the past two years and will remain a member of the panel, the company said Wednesday.

The Energy Department and National Institutes of Health are Edgewater’s main customers that collectively add up to $37.8 million in unclassified prime contract revenue over the trailing 12 months, according to USASpending.gov data.

As Salient CRGT’s CEO, Ferrando led that company through its growth into a 2,500-employee business that was acquired by GovCIO. Prior to that, he was CEO of CRGT from 2008 until its combination with Salient Federal Solutions in 2015 to create Salient CRGT.

Ferrando continues to be a member of GovCIO’s board of directors, as well as chairman of the boards at Vistant and Link Solutions.

Blue Delta Capital Partners, the government market-focused venture firm, acquired an equity stake in Edgewater in the fall of 2022.
