Find opportunities — and win them.

Top NASA officials will speak on Sept. 6 to provide insights into their space exploration, aeronautics research and small business priorities.

We will take a deep dive into NASA’s mission and strategic initiatives at our next Power Breakfast on Sept. 6.

The event begins with a keynote address from Casey Swails, who is NASA's fourth-highest ranked official as its deputy associate administrator.

She will detail initiatives from NASA’s five mission directorates including space operations, aeronautics research and exploration. A key theme of the session will be what NASA needs to get back to the moon and beyond.

But she will also explain some of NASA’s work with low-earth orbit satellites and what support the agency needs from industry.

Speaker number two from NASA will be Karl Mathias, program manager for business solutions. He joined the agency less than a year ago after a stint as chief information officer at the Health and Human Services Department.

Mathias will describe the business systems and IT infrastructure that NASA needs, especially as the agency works to support its 10 centers around the country.

We will also hear from Dwight Deneal, assistant administrator for NASA's office of small business programs.

Deneal will share about how his office is working to make sure small businesses can play a big role at NASA, along with initiatives and programs focused on small business opportunities.

Nate Nash from our sibling organization GovTribe will present data on NASA and its spending patterns.

The Sept. 6 event is at the Carahsoft Conference Center in Reston, Virginia. We start at 7:45 a.m. with networking and registration and then the program kicks off, or should we say, launches at 8:30 a.m.
