One of the aerospace-and-defense sector's blue chip players also undertakes a leadership transition for one of its business segments.

A-Tek

Crystal Hair has joined as chief technology officer amid this company's push to further build out its digital transformation business.

A-TEK has called out artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing services, cybersecurity and agile application development as among its key tech priority areas.

Hair becomes A-TEK's first-ever CTO with this appointment and also will lead its digital roadmap and partnership functions.

She most recently was vice president of cloud at the digital transformation consultancy 11:59. Her career prior to 11:59 includes tech leadership roles at Accenture Federal Services and Jacobs.

ManTech

Gary Grimes has joined in the newly-created role of chief acceleration officer, a role that tasks him to lead ManTech's strategic roadmap for achieving success.

ManTech calls that roadmap its Value Creation Plan and describes it as a series of initiatives for accelerating growth, operational performance and advancements on other metrics.

Grimes most recently worked at the private equity firm Platinum Equity, where he worked with leadership teams at portfolio companies on their VCPs. Prior to Platinum Equity, he worked at McKinsey in a similar role focused on helping industry clients with their growth and performance improvement initiatives.

Grimes is also a 10-year Navy veteran whose career includes service as a surface warfare officer and operations officer in the in the Presidential Emergency Operations Center at the White House.

RTX

Troy Brunk has moved up to the role of president at Collins Aerospace, one of three business segments at this blue chip aerospace-and-defense hardware company.

He has been with the Collins business for 28 years and most recently led its avionics, interiors and mission systems strategic business units. RTX touts Brunk as having played a critical role in managing Collins through the COVID-19 pandemic that effectively froze the commercial aerospace market for some time, plus the recovery since.

Brunk has succeeded current president Stephen Timm, who moves into the role of special adviser before he retires from the company in March 2025. Timm will work with RTX's chief executive Chris Calio on business transformation efforts at Collins.

RTX has also promoted Heather Robertson to president of Collins' mission systems business unit. She is a 24-year company veteran who most recently was that unit's chief operating officer.

Science Applications International Corp.

Han-Ron Siah has joined SAIC as chief talent officer with the responsibility of helping lead the company's ongoing cultural transformation and efforts to align its workforce with a single enterprise mindset.

SAIC has also tasked Siah with the oversight of its upskilling and reskilling initiatives, piloting of new formats and innovation in delivery approaches.

Siah most recently was chief talent officer at McDonalds and before that worked as a senior vice president at Marriott International, where he led its overall talent strategy and the technology component to it.

His new role at SAIC is a return to the public sector market. Siah started his professional career at Deloitte Consulting in software implementation and also held summer internships at Booz Allen Hamilton and Hughes Space & Communications.
