Find opportunities — and win them.

This represents the newest move in Science Applications International Corp.'s ongoing strategic pivot.

Science Applications International Corp. has hired a new executive vice president for its civilian group in Srinivas "Srini" Attili, who joins after three years as a partner and leader at McKinsey.

Attili will officially join SAIC on May 6 and lead a team whose customer base includes civilian, health, and state and local government agencies. While at McKinsey, he worked with clients on health care and digital transformation initiatives.

“His addition to our leadership team is another step in our strategy towards accelerating sustainable profitable organic growth, better aligning with SAIC’s four strategic pivots – portfolio, go-to-market, culture and brand – and innovating across the civilian space to drive long-term value creation," SAIC's chief executive Toni Townes-Whitley said in a release Thursday.

Included within those pivots is an emphasis on organic growth and bolstering SAIC's business development and capture function to support that leg of the strategy, Townes-Whitley has told investors in prior earnings calls.

The civilian group Attili will lead is one of five units as part of a new alignment SAIC unveiled in December.

Prior to McKinsey, Attili worked as a principal at Deloitte and focused on technology transformation initiatives for clients in the health and life sciences fields including federal agencies.

Attili's career also includes a stint as leader of IBM's public sector technology practice.
