L3Harris hires former Epirus CEO as finance chief

Epirus' board of directors moves to promote its next CEO from within and continue the startup's emphasis on prototyping in its defense technology programs.
L3Harris Technologies has hired a new chief financial officer in Ken Bedingfield, a three-decade defense market veteran whose career includes five years as CFO for Northrop Grumman.
Bedingfield will join L3Harris on Dec. 11 and succeed the now-departed Michelle Turner, the company said Monday. Turner joined L3Harris in early 2022.
Three major highlights of his tenure at Northrop included its capture of the B-21 bomber and Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent contracts in 2015 and 2020 respectively, plus the acquisition of Orbital ATK in 2018.
Most recently, Bedingfield led the defense technology startup Epirus as CEO for the past year to continue that company's emphasis on prototyping and development pathways in its strategy.
Epirus' board of directors has moved on appointing its next CEO in Andy Lowery, who will move up to that position from his prior role as chief operations officer and general manager for commercial. Lowery joined Epirus in 2021 as chief product officer.
Mick Jaggers has been promoted to COO from his prior role as senior vice president and general manager for defense, Epirus added in its own Monday announcement of the transition.
