DecisionPoint brings in new operations chief

The service-disabled veteran-owned small business makes a key hire in support of its push to enter the market's middle tier.
DecisionPoint has hired a new chief operating officer in Asya Smith, a two-decade government contracting veteran who joins the company to help lead its graduation from its small business status.
Smith's key areas of focus will include program delivery and strategic scaling as DecisionPoint looks to enter the market's middle tier, the IT services provider said Monday.
DecisionPoint is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business that started in 2012 and is led by its founder and CEO Brian Flood. The company touts its core lines of work as including IT modernization, digital transformation, cybersecurity, health IT and intelligent automation.
Gaithersburg, Maryland-headquartered DecisionPoint has recorded approximately $14.7 million in unclassified prime contract and grant revenue over the trailing 12 months. The Interior Department represents just shy of two-thirds of that funding, according to GovTribe data.
Smith joins DecisionPoint from FavorTech Consulting/Tria, where she most recently was a vice president. She also is a former COO for VariQ, another GovCon company that graduated from small business status.
