Find opportunities — and win them.

Though a relatively small contract dollar-wise, both companies want to provide high-performance computing support to the Food and Drug Administration.

You wouldn’t think that a $95 million contract was worth fighting over when the companies involved count their annual revenue in the multibillion-dollar territory.

But General Dynamics IT is back with a second protest over a $95 million Food and Drug Administration blanket purchase agreement for research and computing support.

Science Applications International Corp. first won the contract in October 2022, then GDIT quickly filed a protest.

The FDA decided to take a corrective action in November and rethink that award decision. SAIC again won the contract and GDIT filed a new protest on April 10.

GDIT is challenging the FDA's evaluation of SAIC’s price, claiming the agency didn't calculate it correctly.

A decision from the Government Accountability Office is due by July 19.

The Advanced Research and Scientific Computing Support Services BPA will support FDA researchers and scientists who need high-performance computing and cloud-based services around large datasets. Those efforts include artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, analytical tools and advanced computing.
