His most recent role in government was an assistant secretary position at the Homeland Security Department.

General Dynamics' IT services business has hired a new vice president of cyber client engagement in Matt Hayden, a two-decade government service veteran and former Homeland Security Department senior leader.

Hayden will be responsible for fostering relationships with industry partners and key cyber executives inside the government, GDIT said Thursday. Other aspects of his new position include delivering cyber growth strategies and advancing thought leadership.

His most recent DHS role was as assistant secretary for cyber, infrastructure, risk and resilience policy. He is also a former senior adviser to the director of DHS' Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, as well as deputy assistant secretary within DHS' private sector office.

After leaving DHS in 2021, Hayden joined Exiger as senior vice president of government technology solutions and worked in that role until his appointment to GDIT.
