Ardent hires trio for business development leadership team

The HUBZone-certified small business aims to become a middle-tier company.

Government services firm Ardent Management Consulting has hired three executives for business development leadership positions as the company seeks to push into the market’s middle tier.

In a release Wednesday, the HUBZone-certified small business said that group joins amid an overall revamp of its BD team charged with executing its strategic growth plan.

Rosslyn, Virginia-headquartered Ardent listed the new hires and responsibilities as:

  • Josh “JB” Barr, vice president for federal health,
  • Joshua Kolchins, vice president for homeland security, and
  • Steve Smagin, vice president for federal civilian.

Barr previously spent nearly 10 years at Aurotech, SMDI and the Thought Leadership Group.

Kolchins’ two-decade career includes DHS-focused business development efforts at CSRA, Exelis and General Dynamics.

Smagins has nearly three decades of experience from companies such as 1901 Group, KeyLogic and SRA International.
