Data center owner brings in new public sector leader
Data center property owner CyrusOne hires a new executive that will be responsible for growth in its public sector and federal line of business.
Data center property owner CyrusOne has hired a new leader for its public sector and federal team in Anthony Rizzo, a two-decade market veteran and former Schneider Electric executive.
Rizzo will be based in Northern Virginia for his new role as vice president of public sector, CyrusOne said Thursday.
Headquartered in Dallas, CyrusOne is a real estate investment trust that owns eight data centers in Northern Virginia that span 1.9 million square feet of space. The Sterling facility in particular has direct access to key internet exchange points in the U.S.
CyrusOne’s overall portfolio consists of 49 data center facilities with 10 of them in the U.S., along with one each in London and Singapore. The company’s focus is on carrier-neutral data centers that serve as hubs for colocation and peering services.
Most recently, Rizzo was a managing partner at another data center service provider in CPG Beyond. That role saw him work with hyperscale companies on building and operating data centers.
Rizzo is also a former senior vice president of public sector for Schneider Electric MCSS, a company he joined via its acquisition of Lee Technologies in 2011.
