Accenture’s federal arm hires new applied intelligence leader

The U.S. federal subsidiary of Accenture hires a veteran of SAIC and IBM to lead the applied intelligence practice focused on data science and other aspects of automation.

Accenture’s U.S. federal subsidiary has hired a new leader for its applied intelligence practice in Michael Scruggs, a two-decade veteran of work on data science and artificial intelligence.

“I’m thrilled to join Accenture Federal Services where I look forward to leading the applied intelligence team in delivering innovative solutions involving predictive analytics, machine learning (ML), robotic process automation (RPA), and edge solutions,” Scruggs said in a release Wednesday.

Most recently, Scruggs was senior vice president of AI at Science Applications International Corp.

He joined SAIC in early 2021 after 12 years at IBM in the latter’s cloud and cognitive business unit, which provides data science and AI offerings to public sector and commercial customers.
