CMS awards $2B enrollment support vehicle

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has awarded 14 companies positions on a potential 10-year, $2 billion contract for enrollment and screening support services.
CMS launched the Provider Enrollment and Oversight acquisition nearly two years ago to find industry partners for help in efforts to detect, prevent and proactively deter fraud, waste and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid programs.
PEO is a brand new requirement with no incumbent that saw 41 companies submit proposals, according to Federal Procurement Data System information.

Work will take place over an initial five-year base period with an option to extend for five more years. The vehicle had some positions reserved for small businesses.
Services from the companies will include site verification, fingerprinting, provider enrollment appeals and rebuttals, national provider enrollment, durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies license verifications, and provider enrollment data analysis and accreditation.
