NASA taps small biz JV for $243M HQ IT services contract

A joint venture of small businesses Venesco and SaiTech has won a potential five-year, $243 million contract to help NASA manage the information technology and communications environment at its Washington headquarters.

NASA reserved the Headquarters Information Technology Support Services 3 contract for 8(a) small businesses only. HITSS 3's period of performance includes one base year and four one-year options, the space agency said Monday.

The VSJV venture will help plan and manage information systems, as well as responsible for lifecycle support of applications and information systems.

VSJV will also operate the headquarters site's data center, perform systems engineering and integration services, provide IT security and also implement new technologies as needed.
