Michael Baker names new federal lead, makes series of promotions

Michael Baker International promotes a long-time company veteran to federal lead and makes a set of other appointments as it pursues government market growth.

Global engineering and consulting company Michael Baker International has made a series of executive promotions in its federal markets group as the company pursues growth and expansion across government agencies.

Pittsburgh-based Michael Baker promoted Frank Terak to senior vice president of federal markets and given him responsibility for the business’ direction and growth, the company said Tuesday.

Terak is a three-decade firm veteran and a former national market lead for the company’s Army and Army Corps of Engineers business.

Michael Baker’s government customers include the Defense Department and all four military branches, the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The company’s federal group is headquartered in Moon Township, Pa. and has offices in both Alexandria, Va. and Virginia Beach.

Jeff Sparrow elevates to national market lead for federal civilian clients from his prior role as head for both the FEMA and DHS markets. Bill Shiderly moves up to national market lead for the Army and Army Corps of Engineers.

In addition, John Alberghini has joined the company as national market lead for the Navy.
