The former Harris IT business adds three executives

The former Harris Corp. government IT services business has added three new executives to its leadership team as the unit continues its next phase under Veritas Capital's ownership.

These new hires come in the wake of nearly 34-year industry veteran Stu Shea's appointment as CEO of the still-unnamed business in early June. Harris sold the Herndon, Va.-based IT division to Veritas Capital for $690 million in April.

New appointments include Jeremy Wensinger as chief operating officer, James Winner to chief legal counsel and general counsel, and Robert Giannetta for chief information officer.

Wensinger spent two decades at Harris in roles such as president of the IT business and group president for the government communications systems division. His career more recently included stints as a segment president at PAE, COO at the former GTSI and chairman and president of Cobham Defense Systems.

James Winner has been appointed chief legal officer and general counsel. He previously held the same role at GardaWorld Federal Services and also worked in division general counsel positions at Northrop Grumman, ITT and Exelis. The Air Force veteran is also a former in-house counsel for Rolls-Royce and Cummins and practiced law with Barnes & Thornburg LLP.

Giannetta is a former vice president and chief information counsel from the former USIS and held management roles at Nextel, Sprint and BAE Systems' U.S. subsidiary. He more recently worked as a partner for technology advisory services at professional services firm CAUSA Talent Source.

The nearly $1 billion IT business currently operates under the temporary name of MHVC Acquisition Corp.

Shea told Washington Technology upon his appointment in early June that the business has a new name in the works but is working to complete the vetting of trademark and other issues.
