DHS consolidates screening

Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge recently approved the creation of an office within the agency to coordinate all screening efforts, said Asa Hutchinson, undersecretary for Border and Transportation Security at the Homeland Security Department.

Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge recently approved the creation of an office within the agency to coordinate all screening efforts, said Asa Hutchinson, undersecretary for Border and Transportation Security at the Homeland Security Department.

The Office of Screening Coordination is part of the Border and Transportation Security Directorate and will coordinate the efforts of programs such as U.S. Visit, the National Targeting Center and the Computer Assisted Passenger Prescreening System II.
