Northrop Grumman gets $350 million air traffic contract

Northrop Grumman Corp. won the $350 million Federal Aviation Administration Technical Assistance Contract.

Northrop Grumman of Los Angeles 2002 revenue of $17.2 billion. The company employs more than 117,000 people worldwide.

Northrop Grumman Corp. won the $350 million Federal Aviation Administration Technical Assistance Contract 2, supporting the Office of Air Traffic Systems Development.

The contract, awarded April 21, runs over seven years. Northrop Grumman was the incumbent on the preceding contract.

Under the terms of the contract, Northrop Grumman will provide program management and technical assistance to five integrated product teams, including traffic flow management, en route, next-generation communications, free flight and weather. The company also will assist the FAA in modernizing the National Airspace System.

About 300 people will work on the contract, which Northrop Grumman has held for 12 years.
