The Oak Brook, Ill.-based consortium pools the resources of its members to provide services such as technology assessments, clinical and operational bench marking, and financial databases.
Eastman, KPMG Form Work Management Alliance: The two firms will jointly target government agencies and specific industries such as banking, insurance and financial services. "Eastman Software's proven technologies complement our Document Management practice in delivering to clients superior document management solutions," said Robin Lineberger, principal-in-charge of KPMG's Document Management practice.
US West Forms Partnerships for Network Applications: Englewood, Colo.-based US West hopes to have the network up and running by the end of 1998. Applications that it hopes to offer include e-mail hosting, multimedia intranets, electronic billing, content distribution and supply chain management.
Lucent Technologies Acquires HP Wireless Unit: With the acquisition of Hewlett-Packard Co.'s wireless unit, Murray Hill, N.J.-based Lucent Technologies has formed a wireless broadband networks division.
