PRC has won a five-year contract worth a potential $286 million to provide information technology services for the Department of Defense Health Affairs, DoD hospitals and related medical activities. Part of the contract is to introduce emerging medical technologies on and of the battlefield.

Technology Integration Services Inc., headquartered in Carrollton, Texas, won a $4 million contract with Electrospace Systems Inc. to support the upgrade of U.S. government telecommunications networks linking 15 locations around the world.

ANSTEC Inc. of Fairfax, Va., announced that it received three contracts with a combined total exceeding $100 million. The first award is as subcontractor to Cortez III Corp., of Albuquerque, N.M., to provide technical, administrative and logistics support services to NASA's Goddard facility. The contract will be worth $60 million over four years.The second contract calls for ANSTEC to provide technical and acquisition management support to various offices at Elgin Air Force Base in Florida.The Air Force contract is for a base year plus four option years, the total value will be up to $40 million. Under the third contract, for the Department of Education, ANSTEC won a $2 million award for five years to provide systems analysis, maintenance and migrations using computer-aided software engineering tools.

Texas Instruments Defense Systems and Electronics Group won a $1 million award to supply 22 multichip memory modules to prime contractor Lockheed Matin in support of NASA's Small Explorer Program.

DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE

Westinghouse Electric Corp. netted a $98 million order from Newport News Shipbuilding to provide eight turbine generator sets for the U.S. Navy's most recently authorized Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, the CVN-76. The generators will be delivered by mid-1998.

Decision Systems Technologies Inc. won a $20.3 million contract with the Defense Logistics Agency and Defense Information Systems Agency for information processing technical support.

Hughes Training Inc., a unit of the Hughes Aircraft Co., won a $1 million award for the U.S. Army's Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation Command's WARSIM 2000 program, designed to provide a simulated warfare training environment. Additionally, Hughes Training received an initial $3.5 million award from a nearly $12 million contract with the U.S. Air Force's Aeronautical Systems Center to deliver three F-16A maintenance trainers to the Taiwan Air Force.

In separate news, Hughes Aircraft Co., won a $22 million contract to provide the Army with approximately 500 infrared sights to be used with rifles and other infantry weapons. Hughes Aircraft also received three Joint Advanced Strike Technology program contracts valued at $9.4 million.Two of the contracts are from the JAST Program Office, while the third is from the Air Force Wright Laboratories Mantech Directorate. The awards include a $3.1 million, 28-month contract to develop and demonstrate a very high resolution radar to provide precision guidance so that a system can detect, identify, designate and track surface targets in adverse weather. There also is a $1.8 million, 27-month contract to develop technology that would allow off-board targeting to work with autonomous weapons guidance systems. The third contract provides $4.5 million, for a 40-month effort to develop an active array using high-density microwave packaging and integrated development processes.

The Lockheed Martin Services Groups, headquartered in Cherry Hill, N.J., won a five-year $8 million contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to provide engineering and navigation support for environmental satellites.

Pivotal Graphics won an $850,000 contract with Raytheon Electronic Systems Division to deliver radar scan converter subsystems that will be used to complete the air traffic control system for Hong Kong's new Chek Lap Kok Airport.

VSK Electronics, a subsidiary of Allied Research, won a $1 million contract to install access control security equipment at a new Belgium high-security prison.

Trimble Navigation Ltd., Sunnyvale, Calif., announced that it is teaming with Xanavi Informatics Corp., of Japan, to supply and integrate its global positioning software technology into Xanavi's new car navigation system.

Wireless Telecom Inc. signed an agreement with L.A. Cellular to provide wireless data service in the Los Angeles area to WTI's value-added resellers. The deal allows WTI value-added reseller to offer customers the ability to send or receive E-mail, exchange files or documents and remotely access LANs or databases over the L.A. Cellular network.
