ID Technologies acquires secure connectivity product maker

ID Technologies has completed an acquisition it sees as expanding the portfolio of security products and its presence among defense and intelligence agencies.

Ashburn, Virginia-headquartered ID Technologies said Thursday it purchased Attila Security, a developer of software for customers to use in accessing classified government networks and other assets from remote locations. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

ID Technologies is backed by private equity firm The Acacia Group, which formed that company three years ago through a split of the former Intelligent Decisions. The split created ID Technologies and Applied Insight.

Started in 2018 as a cyber firm, Attila designed its flagship Go Silent Platform to create a fully-encrypted link between end-user devices and servers. Attila CEO Gregg Smith will continue to lead the Attila team as it joins ID Technologies.

“In thinking about the next strategic move for Attila Security, we talked to several potential investment partners. What made us feel good about ID Technologies was our shared vision and approach to the CSfC (Commercial Solutions for Classified) marketplace and total alignment on the value of joining forces,” Smith said in a release.

ID Technologies plans to incorporate Attila’s products into the former’s collection of offerings called Archon, which comprises of secured personal and remote technologies for employees of large government agencies and other organizations.

“The acquisition of Attila Security is part of our investment in new CSfC and ultra-secure product innovations focused on both mobile device and mission platform security, creating new opportunities with customers that need to access classified data from anywhere the mission demands,” ID Technologies CEO Chris Oliver added.
