NASA taps joint venture for $531M Goddard engineering contract

A joint venture that includes KBR as a partner wins a $531 million contract for systems engineering work at NASA's Goddard hub.
A joint venture of KBR and Aerodyne Industries has won potential five-year, $531 million contract to carry out systems engineering work at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Goddard, Maryland.
This second iteration of the Mechanical Integration Services and Technologies contract covers support for spaceflight and ground systems, NASA said Tuesday.
For Aerodyne-SGT Engineering Services, its win of the small business set-aside MIST II contract represents a takeaway from the incumbent ATA Aerospace. Deltek data indicates that current contract expires Sept. 13, 2021.
Regarding the SGT piece of the winning venture's name: that is a reference to Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies, which KBR acquired three years ago.
ATA Aerospace is a joint venture of ASRC Federal and Applied Technology Associates.
