Leidos keeps $470M TSA screening equipment award

Leidos has won a potential five-year, $470.7 million contract to provide deployment services for checkpoint screening equipment to the Transportation Security Administration.

The company will coordinate, install, remove and relocate passenger screening systems at security checkpoints that include imaging technologies and metal detectors. Other systems Leidos will help maintain include those for explosive trace detection, X-ray, bottled liquid scanning and credential authorizations.

TSA announced the award Thursday and received three total bids for the effort, according to Beta.Sam.gov and the Federal Procurement Data System.

For TSA, this is its second major security screening equipment award within two months since it awarded a similar but separate $318 million job to Raytheon in April focused on systems that screen checked baggage.

Both Leidos and Raytheon are the respective incumbents on those awards, according to Deltek data.
