C3.ai hires new federal head

C3.ai brings in a 35-year technology sector veteran to lead the artificial intelligence software firm's federal systems unit nearly five months after the company's initial public offering.
Artificial intelligence software firm C3.ai has hired 35-year technology sector veteran Tod Weber as senior vice president and general manager of its federal systems unit.
Weber will lead the group’s effort to advance enterprise AI offerings in the U.S. federal government and associated markets, C3.ai said Tuesday.
Most recently, Weber was CEO and chairman of Software AG’s subsidiary focused on the federal government and joined through its acquisition of WebMethods in 2007.
C3.ai is founded and led by longtime technology executive Tom Siebel, the CEO. He held the same role at customer relationship management software firm Siebel Systems before its acquisition by Oracle in 2006.
The Air Force uses C3.ai’s offering to predict engine failures in aircraft and get the platforms into maintenance so those problems are fixed in advance.
C3.ai undertook an initial public offering in December 2020 and raised $651 million in proceeds.
