ManTech, Google detail their cloud partnership

ManTech has formalized a new partnership with Google to bring more of the search engine giant's cloud offerings to federal agencies.

That new pact unveiled Thursday also makes ManTech as a Google Cloud Premier Partner -- a label that means the government technology integrator can use Google Cloud’s big data and computing services to create new analytics and other solutions for customers.

Herndon, Virginia-based ManTech is also in the partnership networks of other cloud hosting giants such as Microsoft and Amazon Web Services, the latter of which ManTech said earlier in April it holds Migration and DevOps competencies in deploying AWS for agencies.

In partnering with Google, ManTech eyed an open and flexible architecture for the purpose of interoperability across other hyperscale cloud providers and an emphasis on security.

“The partnership grows out of successful collaborations between ManTech and Google Cloud to accelerate government’s digital transformation,” Matt Tait, ManTech’s chief operating officer, said in a release.

“We’re excited to work closely with ManTech to help government agencies grow their digital capabilities, efficiently serve constituents, and complete their most critical missions with the cloud,” added Mike Daniels, vice president of global public sector for Google’s cloud business.

One of those missions will be to help agencies manage the large amounts of data they have and put it to work. The companies will use Google’s cloud as a managed application platform for users to access and analyze data across other providers.
