Find opportunities — and win them.

Private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management brings back a familiar face in Greg Nixon to help identify more investment opportunities.

Private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management has brought back a familiar face to help them identify investment opportunities in the technology, security and defense sectors.

Cerberus said Friday that Greg Nixon has taken the role of strategic investments, senior legal counsel and senior managing director.

Nixon is chairman of the board of directors for portfolio company Navistar Defense and was a member of the board at Sparton Corp., which Cerberus acquired in 2019 and then sold a year later to Elbit Systems of America.

His most recent executive role was chief administrative officer and chief legal officer at DynCorp International, which Cerberus sold to Amentum late last year.

In its announcement, Cerberus touted Nixon’s nearly 10-year career with Cerberus on a wide range of projects and investments.

Nixon’s private sector career includes leadership roles at Booz Allen Hamilton, McKinsey and CH2M Hill. Before that, he served in government as special intellectual property counsel at the Defense Department and judge advocate general officer at the Air Force.
